Countries With The Best Climate #9 -- Italy

When it comes to weather, Italy is really a land of contrasts. Generally speaking, it has one of the best climates in Europe although conditions can vary. The Italian Alps in winter are likely to be cold with crisp blue skies and enough snow to keep skiers satisfied. On the other hand, Milan is often fog-bound, and the Po Valley can be quite cold and damp as well. In fact winter fog can be a problem throughout all Central and Northern Italy.

For the best winter weather, check out the Italian Riviera, the Amalfi Coast, and the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. All enjoy a mild winter climate, and rainfall isn’t too heavy either.

Obviously the farther south you go during the summertime, the hotter it will get. The deep south indeed can be very warm. In Apulia, the heel of Italy, even the sea temperature averages 82°F in August.

Countries With The Best Climate #10 -- France

France's climate is mostly temperate, althought there are regional variations. Average temperatures range from 32°F to 46°F during the Winter, and from 61°F to 75°F during the Summer.

Most of the warmth and sunshine is located in the deep south of the country, known to the French as the Midi. The Provence and Languedoc regions are known for their mild winters and blistering hot summers.

The north and central regions, including Paris, have cool and relatively wet winters, althought summers are usually hot. Winters are a lot colder in the eastern regions of the Alsace-Lorraine and in the mountainous regions of the Alps, the Pyrenees, and the Massif Central.

It is also important to note that the Celsius scale (°C) is used in France.

Countries With The Best Climate

When traveling oversees, we want to go to places where the sun shines most of the time, and not someplace with a lot of rain, snow, sleet, or any other weather that makes us miserable.

According to Jackie Flynn, publisher of International Living, "some people like to have a sharp, cold winter followed by a long, warm summer. Others want to eliminate the cold altogether and have sun year-round. And others prefer a more temperate climate…not too hot, not too cold, just somewhere in between."

So the question for you is, what is the best climate in the world? Do you want moderately warm temperatures with sunshine and a nice breeze from the sea?

International Living came up with a list of the top countries where the climate is perfect. They have also included a brief description of those countries as to why to weather is great there.

So for the next several months, Central Market Exchange will tell you which countries they are and a little bit about why the weather's so nice there.

So stay tuned as we tell you about those countries!
